Program Overview

Since the Housing Trust was founded in 1998 we have remained dedicated to increasing affordability for those wanting to live in Santa Clara County through three core program areas:

First-time Homebuyer Loans: The Housing Trust provides loans to low and moderate income homebuyers in Santa Clara County in the form of low-interest, second mortgages and downpayment assistance. To see what loan best meets your needs visit our loan comparison chart.

Developer Loans: The Housing Trust provides loans to nonprofit developers constructing or rehabilitating affordable multifamily rental housing for seniors, working families, the homeless and people with special needs.

Emergency Homelessness Prevention Grants: The Homelessness and Special Needs Program is comprised of Emergency Homelessness Prevention Grants (EHPG) and loans to nonprofit developers that support the construction and rehabilitation of housing for extremely low-income households and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
